Hampta Pass Trek

Overview

There are treks that cross various passes, and then there are treks that are just different from the norm; The Hampta Pass Trek is one of the latter. The Hampta Pass peak provides a spectacular view of two valleys. On one side, the lush green Kullu valley, and on the other, the barren mountains and stark landscape of Lahaul. To get such views, you must climb to the peak via a steep, rocky, and vertical ascent.

The lake is located at an elevation of 14,100 feet, and if you want to see the lake in the moon-shaped shape as described, you can walk on the adjacent mountain; the ridge will be able to specify the true meaning behind the Chandratal. The journey to Chandratal Lake begins with a scenic drive from the Chatru campsite. Chandratal Lake is located near the Chandra River’s headwaters and is surrounded by peaks and meadows. Furthermore, the Hampta Pass trek is purely Himachal in nature and is always welcoming.

Enjoy the breathtaking sunset behind the Hanuman Tibba peak, which can be seen from the Bhalu ka Ghera campsite. More than a kilometer into the trek, you come face to face with the Deo Tibba peak. Every campsite along the trail has its own unique beauty that can only be seen and felt by marking a presence at a specific point. This trek is suitable for people of all ages, and at times you will be at an altitude of 14,000 feet, which is not a problem as long as you stay hydrated and relax. If you are traveling to Hampta Pass Trek, you should also visit Rohtang Pass Trek and Beas Kund Trek.
